Located 21 miles southwest of Leadville and 36 miles east of Aspen, this historic village sits at the base of Colorado’s highest peak, Mt. Elbert, and beside the beautiful Twin Lakes. Situated along the “Top of the Rockies Scenic Byway,” Twin Lakes is the eastern gateway to Independence Pass, one of the highest paved passes in the state.
